Hello Sheng Shengs!!

Today was a public holiday so Pantad, Shirley, Linda and I went shopping. I didn’t end up doing much shopping so here are some photos of some of my shopping over the holidays (and a friendship necklace pantad and I bought)

The 3 of these don’t fit together at all, I like to say it fits together awkwardly the way we fit together – we’re a bunch of awkward weirdos that work together some how!

Ok now for some HOLIDAY SHOPPING!!

When in France I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to buy french vogue, Theres a cigarette pen, doctor who tardis pen, keyring and an owl that’s also lip balm!

Here are some necklaces I bought. I found a mimco store at Covent Garden and realised how much cheaper it was in the UK so I picked up quite a few statement necklaces.

Also picked up some bags: Black Givenchy for work, red Chanel petite shopping tote for weekends and a Burberry Prorsum clutch

Some clothes!!

and some make up and beauty products

There’s more shopping to come :) especially when the rest of my luggage is posted over!

Shopping has become so difficult after the introduction of vanity sizing. I was a size 6 in high school then a few models died of anorexia and now im way too tiny for size 6′s :( damn australia! I’ll rant about it later.

Travel Tips

Hello :)

I thought I’d share some of my tips for short visits that I learned from my trips. (heheh tips and trips that makes me laugh for some reason)

1. Abu Dhabi

Givenchy and Chloe are probably cheapest in Abu Dhabi, during December the stores in the airport have 50% off most things (you can get a Chloe Paddington for approximately 900 AUD) Hermes is a rip off there (cheapest in London at the moment – varies between London and Europe due to the exchange rate)

Image

2. Dubai

EAT EVERYWHERE!! the food is amazing! I became obsessed with Eric Kayser on the ground floor of Dubai mall. I had 3 plates for one meal!

Image

3. Paris

If your looking for some shopping without all the high end designers and crowds go outside Paris and shop. I stumbled upon one in Val D’Europe near disneyland when visiting the aquarium there. It’s 3 levels and it has a lot of mid range stores. I think there are outlets at the stop before it on the train so maybe you could go to the outlet and then check out the shops near the aquarium. (Also the aquarium is AWESOME)

4. London

Avoid the crowds at your favourite high street stores at Oxford Street by shopping at high street kensington. It’s clean, organised and quiet :)

5. Curryland

Don’t go without a friend!

I’m so tired I don’t remember  happened in Dubai, there was food shopping and a tiny bit of being a tourist here are some cool photos. Ohh and also orignial Sheng Sheng’s eye is stuck in its face.

Bangkok misadventures

December 13th, 2011 § 1 Comment

OMG Sheng Shengs it was like a mad rush around Bangkok, like I took so few photos its kind of sad :( but i got to walk around a “park” (Lumpini Park) shops (MBK, Siam Paragon and another one of those Siam shopping centres) and see a temple kinda thing (Jim Thompson House) ohh and try on a 10 carat diamond bracelet (at some GP certified place it was cool it had a lady man in louboutins greet us) which I was about to buy until my mum saw the tiger heads had eyes so she said no eyes!! but at least I got to wear it for a while.

HIGHLIGHT OF TRIP – asked a lady boy for directions

Well here’s what I bought (that matters – gifts to familyare pointless)

I finally own flat and they were only $10!!! I bought these two tops, I’m thinking about giving the pink one to Nat if she likes it and if I decide I don’t want to keep it, but for now these are my emergency clothes since my luggage is sitting in Dubai at the moment.

Since my sheng sheng has completely fail grammer and looks like big orange and all the other sheng sheng bunnies I felt this cup summed him up perfectly!! so I bought it from some cool shop called Loft it was like a more pimped out Morning Glory.

Perfumessssss

Hello Sheng Shengs :) in honour of Nat’s new blog http://noobasauras.wordpress.com/ (Check it out now!!) I have posted some of my perfume collection.

I love perfumes :) so here’s a look at some of my favourites.

Lola by Marc Jacobs: Lola is my winter scent, I love fruity musky perfumes and this is exactly that. It smells like vanilla, rose, grapefruit and a few other fruits but the muskiness makes it ideal for winter ( I think it’s too musky for summer)

Armani Code: This is my summer take on fruity. It doesn’t have that muskiness its more of a citrus smell. Like oranges, vanilla (love the smell of vanilla, rarely buy a perfume that doesn’t have a tiny bit of vanilla essence) and other fruits.  This is one of my favouritessss I am on my 3rd bottle.

Clinique Happy for men: This was my dads and he didn’t like it. I loved how it had a hint of citrus so I kept it for myself.

Chanel Chance: This one is more spicy and different to what I usually buy but I loved how unique it as and the bottle photographs well.

Calvin Klein Euphoria: I’m on my second bottle of this, it’s so creamy and florally :) I also have Euphoria Blossom which is a rosier fruiter take on Euphoria which I have dubbed the summer version of Euphoria.

Gwen Stefani Harajuku Lovers Music: I love the smell of this I bought it as soon as I smelt it!!! It’s like a fruity musky vanilla scent. Also the bottle is pretty cute.

Elizabeth Arden Mediterranean: This floral creamy number is what I use when I travel it’s almost finished :(

YSL Baby Doll: I have the limited edition version of this with glitter and a music box. It’s so fruity I reach for it the most.

Intimately Beckham: This is a strong vanilla, fruity, musky scent – so my usual.

Guerlain Insolence: I got this as a gift from my aunty and I love it!! the bottle looks so pretty and it reminds me of intimately beckham but slightly more floral.

I took some separate photos of Chanel Chance since I think it looks really nice when photographed :)

I also wanted to show the special edition of Babydoll, if you look carefully it has glitter in the perfume. It’s also in a music box. I bought it on one of the first flights the Singapore airlines A380 took. I felt this was the best souvenir.

Anyway :)

I’m off on my trip overseas on Monday, I’ll try and post my adventures :)

One week into summer

December 7th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

It’s been one week of summer in Sydney and it’s exactly like winter, pretty lame … anyway I haven’t documented my food adventures in a while so I thought I might today. I didn’t have work today volunteered at the hospital for a few hours then headed down to target with the colleagues for some plush toys.

They are sooo cute :)

After buying plush toys we met up with some of my friends to go down to Adriano Zumbo at Star City for macaroons!!! whooo macaroonsssss

I bought watermelon, milo and peanut caramel. The watermelon one was my favourite :) and the milo one tasted exactly like milo! definitely recommend getting them even though the store is very busy and its not done by Adriano Zumbo himself. They are like $2.50 each which is cheaper than the Lindt Cafe macaroons (which I absolutely love) so that’s always a plus.

We also headed down to Charlie Lovett near Railway Square after doing some playing in the park and shopping for a hot chocolate to warm us up.

I had the Belgian Hot Chocolate which was AMAZING!! like I want to go back every cold day for one!!!! but I didn’t let Sheng Sheng know how much I loved it to seem less weird. Sheng Sheng got a dark choc which was delicious as well but I preferred this one since the macaroons put me in a sugary milk chocolate mood but I have decided I LOVE THE PLACE! it’s a pretty nice chill place to sit too =]

After that we go korean fried chicken and headed home, I watched K pop for like an hour and I looked funny after I walked out of the restaurant since it was all so new and korean.

Hope you enjoyed my rant!!

Bye Bye Sheng Shengs!!

Things to be thankful for :)

How I manage to wear heels all day!

November 14th, 2011 § 2 Comments

This is dedicated to a new friend of mine who always seems to have foot discomfort. It is my tale of understanding shoes and it is pretty much the journey I took to understanding why my Louboutins were more comfortable than my flats. The answer is heel support not designers :O shock horror!!! So to anyone who wants to walk all around the office in their highest heels this is my guide. Enjoy!

Step 1: Understand the arch on your foot if you have a high arch you will find heels much easier to wear than flats. If the heel you are wearing is similar to your foot arch then the shoe will be very comfortable for you.

Step 2: Find the heel that supports the shape of your foot!

Flats

See those ballet flats are so flat there is no arch support, its to the point u can see my arch peeking out – this will hurt after a while because my entire foot isn’t supported. [Shoes: Country Road]

Notice the slight arch on these, these will give me the support I need and be comfortable flats! [Shoes: Bally]

Heels

See here once you take the arch after the hidden platform it matches your natural arch – this is the reason these are so comfortable!

When they are on the foot is natural and there’s no unnecessary straining (sorry for the veins its 34 degrees at the moment) but yes this is the reason I can wear these to travel or wear it for several hours -my foot is perfectly supported much better than flats! [Shoes: Christian Louboutin]

If you don’t like Louboutins here are more options:

See (with the platform excluded) the arch is the same – I follow this policy because that arch is the one that is best for my foot shape! [Shoes: Jimmy Choo]

If designers aren’t your cup of tea or you just haven’t saved enough there’s Tony Biano’s but beware! the ones without a platform are horribly uncomfortable [Shoes: Tony Bianco]

My Grandfather wore Bally, my dad wore Bally and now it’s my turn! I adore Bally – classic, classy, simple yet on trend! and of course AMAZINGLY COMFORTABLE [Shoes: Bally]

If you’re new to heels, have narrow feet or just fly out of things don’t forget shoes with ankle straps! [Shoes: Jimmy Choo]

Step 3: Make sure the heel is balanced, my test for this is to put the shoe down and see if they wobble

Step 4: Buy it!

Hope this helps you all find the perfect heels! Good Luck Sheng Shengs!!
